SKORNHEAD BIO
Skornhead: a one-man band experimenting with various subgenres of industrial music
I experimented with making music on the computer after a keyboard had been my only experience. I wrote my first lyrics shortly afterward and recorded my vocals for them, eventually exposing my music on the internet with significant improvement over the years. I’ve created 250+ original songs in English, Spanish, French, Portuguese, Italian, German, and Latin, and one in gibberish. Making music has become my work of art by combining my four passions: writing, art, languages, and music. I also write fiction and design all my artwork.
Artist Name
I created the name Skornhead on December 25, 2015, ten years after my previous name, Failure Fanatic, had been created. The name change was due to some people being confused as to whether I was a fanatic of the band Failure. Ironically, there’s a band named Skorn that I hadn’t heard of when I created the name, which can create the same confusion. However, I didn’t want to bother with another name change, and as of 2021, no one has mentioned anything about it. All previous Failure Fanatic tracks were rerecorded and reproduced as Skornhead.
The meaning behind the Skornhead name is an angry and bitter response to every trauma and failure I’ve endured in life, as if I should’ve been born a scorned person who already failed in life before given a chance. It’s similar to Failure Fanatic, except FF represented both my real initials and the freedom to uncensor myself and vent in my music (hence the first “F” in the logo being backward to simulate bony wings).

About: This lost EP was more like a maxi-single from the original Dancing With Demons album (DWD). The title is a portmanteau of the two singles. Despite no references in parenthesis, this version of “Halt’ Mich, Lieb’ Mich” is very different from the darker DWD one. To differentiate the two, I call the DWD version “Halt’ Mich, Lieb’ Mich (Darkwave)” because it actually wasn’t the first to be produced. There was even a Spanish version of the same DWD music style, but it never saw the light of day. Later, the EP formed what is now the Daemonios album. The original tracks were musically untouched, just remastered differently. The RMX versions were musically updated and added to the Restained and Rescorned remix album in 2019.

About: This canceled album was originally going to be my 2017 debut until it needed more work done, which then became my planned second album instead before the data loss. It was going to be released in May 2018 and was then postponed until the fall before ultimately being canceled. It was a bit more industrial rock and industrial metal than previous releases, with some dance tracks as well. The recovered tracks have been moved to the 2018 reissue of Dancing With Demons and other albums, with some having to be reproduced from scratch. SoS was what started the logo’s main gun style, largely with the track “You Shoot Me, I Shoot You”, which was a song of racism full of gunshots and bombs in a midtempo boom-ching-boom-boom-ching electronica style.

About: There’s so much hate, horror, and hypocrisy in organized religion, particularly Christianity because of my personal experience. Yet as an agnostic, the bewilderment and trauma don’t ever go away. I’m perpetually dancing with demons in the eyes of both sides for two different reasons. I’m juggling question marks that resemble little demons with no end in sight. The light at the end of the tunnel seems like the perfect lie to build the falsest of hopes. Yet I search and stop, rinse and repeat, like a pathetic fool with a grasp of hope that never dulls. I then ask myself, “Why the insanity?”

About: Going through a sense of lostness in a spiritual context has always been one of my biggest struggles. I’ve been told to just say I’m atheist instead of agnostic, but that doesn’t fit my identity, either. Neither side proves anything, and we will never know the truth of what is and what isn’t. I’ve never been very religious in life, despite having been raised a Christian with strong expectations, but I’d always found myself seeking God in some form, to then return to where I’d been before. There have been anger, frustration, and sadness throughout this dark and rough journey, and frankly, it drives my curiously wandering mind insane. Christianity dominates my life because I’ve never learned how not to let it do so. How does life exist without it or even with it? That said, trauma is the biggest factor of my lack of trust and my increased doubts. After all, why do we suffer so tragically as if in an endless loop?

About: What started as a joke with a phony Euro accent back in 2011, in retaliation of an old job and a bigoted prick for a boss, turned into a full album that’s come to mean a lot more to me than I wanted to admit. This is a more socially political album with a robot theme, and it offers the retro industrial and electronic dance sound of the 1980s.
